My tire was busted, the sidewall was separating and the vehicle was not able to be driven. I live 45 miles from this location, but my car was being serviced at the dealership across the street. I had to call Hertz road side assistance, who dictated that I would be responsible for a $75 fee to change the tire to the spare because I did not opt in for Hertz's additional insurance package. Ridiculous, it's not my tire nor my problem. After 20 minutes of coordination with Hertz Roadside Assistance, I was told they work with AAA and would be dispatching a driver to my location in 90 minutes.

I have AAA, and they never take 90 minutes. I canceled my request and called AAA independently. They came within 5 minutes at no cost. I would like to note that when I was renting my vehicle, another patron was returning hers because of a flat tire issue.

The gentleman who rented me the vehicle at the Vista location was friendly and the loss of stars can mainly be attributed to Hertz's overall company policy I do believe it is this location's responsibility to accurately assess the overall condition of the vehicle, both interior and exterior. Customer safety should be of utmost importance. Continued use of my rental would have led to a blowout.
