Clutchworks Transmissions at 1205 N Melrose Dr C, Vista, California.

This place is a joke filled with scam artists and people lacking knowledge. My sister and her boy friend took their vehicle in for transmission work. The problems started when they asked the owner to replace their current worn out parts with performance parts. His response was along the lines of there are no performance parts. They asked the guy at the shop to not touch the trans until they sourced some parts or to call them before hand. 3-4 days later they received a call that their transmission was done without their authorization. we were kind of concerned at that point and asked him for parts numbers in which he told us that they didn't build the transmission them selves and we'd have to ask the trans builder for the parts numbers. To make things worse he wouldn't give us the contact info for the transmission builder who is "privately contracted." So after all of that they called my sister and her boy friend in to inspect the clutch and make sure everything was okay; everything was fine. two days later they call my sister and her boy friend back and tell them that their clutch and clutch fork were damaged, I called them personally and they gave me three different stories all of which didn't make much sense. They tried to throw the blame on the last clutch installer which is wrong since they had just inspected those parts the day before. Also they had no issues with the clutch prior to bringing it to the shop for service. So at this point we requested the old parts from the transmission builder since we suspected something shady was going on and they once again refused to give us the contact information assuring us they would get it from the transmission builder. My father (an ASE certified Master Technician) called them and questioned them about the clutch damage and they wouldn't tell him what work they did because it was "too hard to explain" and that "he wouldn't understand" AN ASE MASTER TECHNICIAN!!! They finally "finished" the car, so my sister and her boy friend paid for the service and took the car. They noticed strange vibrations while driving the car and received a call from the shop later that day telling them they needed to come back because they forgot to install THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT. If these scum bags do anything similar to you start a paper trail and look into the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. What they are doing is illegal!!!!!

TLDR: They screwed up multiple times on the transmission. refused to provide information on the privately contracted transmission builder. constantly lied to us, and we had to bring the vehicle back since they forgot to install the transmission mount!
